6th Grade Process Criteria

PROCESS Criteria (How Your Child Learns): This reflects your child's daily habits and behaviors as a learner. These future-ready skills include engagement in learning (preparation and focus), critical and creative thinking (problem-solving and using feedback), and how effectively they communicate and collaborate with peers.

Process Criteria Rubric: 

M — MASTERY

  • Student Demonstration: Student consistently demonstrates learning habits and effort.
  • What This Means: Students performing at this level consistently demonstrate strong learning habits, engagement, and effort in their daily work and learning tasks.

P — PROFICIENT

  • Student Demonstration: Student often demonstrates learning habits and effort.
  • What This Means: Students performing at this level regularly demonstrate appropriate learning habits, engagement, and effort required to support their learning.

AP — APPROACHING PROFICIENCY

  • Student Demonstration: Student sometimes demonstrates learning habits and effort.
  • What This Means: Students performing at this level inconsistent in demonstrating the learning habits, engagement, or effort needed to support their overall learning progress.

NYP — NOT YET PROFICIENT

  • Student Demonstration: Student rarely or does not yet demonstrate learning habits and effort.
  • What This Means: Students performing at this level rarely demonstrate the necessary learning habits, engagement, or effort required for academic growth.

 

Student Process Scale: Success Criteria

M — MASTERY

  • What It Means: Leading the way!
  • Description: Consistently takes responsibility for learning, completes tasks on time, and stays engaged.
  • Next Step: Maintain strong habits and help model positive learning behaviors.

P — PROFICIENT

  • What It Means: On track and focused!
  • Description: Regularly completes work, participates appropriately, and manages learning time well.
  • Next Step: Keep up consistent effort across all assignments.

AP — APPROACHING PROFICIENCY

  • What It Means: Making progress, needs consistency!
  • Description: Completes work intermittently and may need reminders to stay focused and on task.
  • Next Step: Build daily routines to complete assignments on time.

NYP — NOT YET PROFICIENT

  • What It Means: Needs support to get moving!
  • Description: Frequently misses work, struggles to focus, or shows minimal engagement in learning activities.
  • Next Step: Work closely with teachers and family to establish actionable goals.
